What Happened to Silver in 2020?

Silver had its most dramatic year in decades in 2020. It crashed to $11.77 in March during the COVID-19 liquidity crisis — the lowest price since 2009 — as investors sold everything for cash. It then staged a historic recovery, rallying 150% from the March low to $29 by August as central banks launched unprecedented QE programs. The gold/silver ratio hit 124 (all-time high) in March, then crashed back to 71 by August.
