Russia’s Ukraine invasion caused palladium to spike to $3,440 in March 2022 (Russia supplies 40% of global palladium). However, the spike was short-lived as platinum substitution accelerated and demand destruction from high prices offset supply fears. Palladium ended the year essentially flat.
