About the American Silver Eagle (Type 2) 1 oz
The Type 2 American Silver Eagle features a redesigned reverse by Artistic Infusion Program artist Emily Damstra, introduced in 2021. The new reverse depicts a bald eagle landing with wings outstretched, clutching an oak branch. This updated the reverse design that had been unchanged since 1986. Type 2 Eagles (2021-present) are easily distinguished from Type 1 (1986-2021) by the new reverse design.
