About the American Silver Eagle
The American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States and the world's best-selling silver coin. Minted by the US Mint since 1986, each coin contains exactly 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver and carries a $1 legal tender face value. The obverse features Adolph Weinman's iconic "Walking Liberty" design, originally used on the half-dollar from 1916 to 1947. The reverse depicts a heraldic eagle and was redesigned in 2021 to feature a bold new eagle design by Emily Damstra.
