Our Editorial Standards
LiveMetalPrice.com is committed to publishing accurate, timely, and impartial coverage of precious metals and commodity markets. Our editorial team operates independently of commercial considerations, including any advertising or affiliate relationships disclosed below.
All articles are written by identified authors with relevant financial or commodity market expertise. Analysis pieces represent the author's professional judgment based on publicly available market data. They do not constitute investment advice. Readers should conduct their own research before making financial decisions.
How We Source Price Data
Spot prices displayed on LiveMetalPrice.com are sourced from the following primary and secondary sources:
- metalpriceapi.com — Our primary data provider, aggregating prices from global exchange feeds including COMEX and LME.
- COMEX (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) — The primary U.S. exchange for gold, silver, copper, platinum, and palladium futures. Spot prices are derived from near-month futures contracts.
- London Metal Exchange (LME) — Primary global reference for industrial metals including aluminum, zinc, nickel, copper, and tin.
- London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) — Sets the twice-daily gold and silver fix prices referenced in formal contracts worldwide.
Prices are refreshed every 60 seconds during market hours. Outside of active trading sessions, the most recent available price is displayed. For critical minerals and rare earth elements with thinner markets, prices may reflect weekly or monthly published benchmarks from industry sources including Metal Bulletin and Fastmarkets.
Accuracy and Fact-Checking
Numerical claims in articles — price levels, percentage changes, production volumes, and similar data points — are drawn from cited sources including the World Gold Council, Silver Institute, CFTC Commitments of Traders reports, company quarterly filings, and government statistical releases. Significant figures are verified against primary sources before publication.
Analysis and opinion pieces are clearly labeled and distinguished from factual market reports. Authors are not required to disclose personal holdings in the metals or companies discussed, but they are prohibited from writing about positions they hold in excess of 5% of their investable assets without disclosure.
Correction Policy
We are committed to correcting factual errors promptly and transparently. When a correction is made to a published article:
- A correction notice is added to the bottom of the article identifying what was changed and when.
- Significant errors that alter the substance of an article may result in an editor's note at the top of the article.
- Articles are not silently edited to remove factual errors without a posted correction notice.
To report an error, please contact editorial@livemetalprice.com with the article title and a description of the issue. We aim to review correction requests within 24 hours.
